A soft answer turneth away wrath,/i> Easy to say, not so easy to accomplish. On a lighter note, I’m reminded of a middle-aged woman whose husband was a drinker and a gambler. She went to her pastor in tears that nothing she did made any difference. The elderly pastor patted her hand and said, somewhat enigmatically, “Heap coals of fire on his head my dear, coals of fire.” The woman looked at him in amazement. “I never thought of that. I’ve tried a bucket of hot water, but never coals.”
